Duplicate any Dasboard Widget

Dashboards are living documents, always evolving as your team refines metrics, experiments with layouts, or spins up new use cases. But when you're creating multiple similar widgets, starting from scratch each time can slow you down.

That’s why we’ve added the ability to duplicate widgets, a simple but powerful feature that lets you clone any dashboard widget with a single click.

What It Is

Duplicate Widget does exactly what it sounds like, it creates a copy of an existing widget on your dashboard, preserving all of its settings: data sources, filters, visualizations, and formatting.

The duplicated widget appears right next to the original, ready to tweak and customize.

Why We Built It

We saw teams spending unnecessary time recreating widgets just to make small changes, switching a filter, adjusting a time range, or changing the visualization type. This repetitive work adds friction to dashboard iteration, especially when you're building out reporting for new teams or comparing variations of the same data.

We built this capability to streamline that process. Now, you can iterate quickly without rebuilding from the ground up.

What You Can Do With It

Here are a few practical ways teams are already using Duplicate Widget:

  • Create variations: Build one chart, duplicate it, and adjust the filters to show different teams, time periods, or segments.

  • Experiment quickly: Try out new visualizations side by side, line vs. bar, stacked vs. grouped, without reconfiguring from scratch.

  • Scale dashboards: Spin up multiple similar widgets for a new project or stakeholder group in a fraction of the time.

It’s a small quality-of-life improvement, but for dashboard-heavy teams, it adds up fast.

Faster Dashboards, Less Repetition

Duplicate Widget is available now on all dashboards. Just click the “•••” menu on any widget and select Duplicate.

We’re always looking for ways to remove friction and help teams move faster. If you have feedback or ideas for other dashboard improvements, we’d love to hear from you.
